Releasing the Remnants Ritual

This is a mini ritual that would be a follow up to a larger or more in depth releasing ritual and healing. This is about the remnants of releasing. What is left behind - the scars, the burns, the imprints on your energy that remain after traumatic events, difficult circumstances, heartbreak, trying relationships, etc. Even though you may have released this and let it go, every now and again it comes back up and you still have yet more releasing to do. This ritual, given to me by my spirit guides, is symbolic for releasing those energetic imprints. It's very simple, but you can make it as intricate or elaborate as you wish. Don't be afraid to add your own magical flair if you feel called. Watch the YouTube Video that goes along with this working for a more in depth explanation.

Tools - pencil, eraser, paper, a lighter or candle

Set the mood if you like. Call in your spirit team. You can incorporate lunar energy, candlelight, crystals, incense, music - you name it. Whatever gets you in the mood.

What have you released over and over, but you still feel a part of it is holding onto your spirit? Nagging and tugging. That just won't let go? Write this on your paper in pencil. Press hard enough as you write so that your writing will bleed through the paper, leaving an imprint. Allow any remaining feelings about this situation (anger, hurt, jealousy, sadness, etc.) to come back up as you're writing.

Once you've finished writing, begin to lightly erase your pencil marks. Feel free to use a releasing affirmation as you go through each one. You should see the remnants or impression of your handwriting still left upon the paper. The energetic imprint of these instances.

Take your lighter or candle and burn your paper, thereby releasing the remnants of these energetic strongholds. Give gratitude to your angels and guides for helping you with this working.

Making the Most of Mercury Retrograde

planet-mercury-space-shine-pics.jpg

Don't Fear the Retrograde!

Mercury Retrograde often gets a bad rap. However, these times of reflection and evaluation are important for our growth and development. This is a time all about reconnecting with you! Mercury Retrograde can often bring up many lessons for us. Some of them, we think we have already learned. But Mercury comes in to say, "No, no my dear. That was just one layer of the onion." And as we all know, when working with onions, you get a few tears. We may find ourselves in old patterns or circumstances. We may have a ghost from our past pop-in to say hello, or we may have similar situations from the past come in to see if we have really learned our lesson by how we deal with the situation.

What is Mercury Retrograde?

Mercury is the planet that governs communication, travel, and technology. Mercury is considered to be retrograde when the planet appears to travel backward in the sky (it doesn't really). This is why during mercury retrograde communication gets jumbled, people are more likely to get into disagreements, and technology is more prone to malfunction. Mercury goes Retro several times a year (about 3 or 4) for about three and a half weeks - not including the shadow period. You can check the Farmer's Almanac for specific dates.

How Can Mercury Retrograde Impact You?

  • Muddled Thinking
  • Technological Issues
  • Issues with Communication
  • You/Others More on Edge
  • Problems with Travel/Transportation
  • Negotiation & Contract Miscommunications

Here are some things you can do to make your Mercury Retro experience more pleasant...

Double Check Your Work & Pay Attention to Detail

This is so important during Mercury Retrograde as things have more of a tendency to be miscommunicated at this time. It is easier to skip steps or to miss little details. Double check your numbers, the way you word emails, your spelling, how you balanced your check book, read the fine print, confirm when appointments are scheduled, etc. Pay attention to details. Listen carefully to instructions. Do more research. Don't be afraid to ask questions if you're unsure! Go over things with a fine toothed comb. Take a step back - especially if you feel particularly frustrated. Then come back and take a look at it with fresh eyes.

Slow Down

This plays into re-checking your work and paying attention to detail. When we rush, we often miss things or make simple mistakes. Try not to procrastinate. Focus on deep breathing to release anxiety. There's nothing wrong with taking your time! Will a few extra minutes make or break you? Probably not.

Drink Plenty of Water

Because of the shift in energy that takes place during Mercury Retrograde, I have found it beneficial to drink more water during these periods. It really helps to keep your energy clear, fresh, and more energized - especially as you are re-working, re-evaluating, and re-thinking many of your goals and ideas.

Back Up Your Cell Phone & Computer

This is a biggie! Technological malfunctions and mishaps tend to occur quite frequently when Mercury goes Retrograde. Back up all of those pictures, important documents, music, and videos! Try to do this before Mercury goes Retro.

Step Up Your energetic protection & clearing

As a sensitive, intuitive, or empath, you may find it difficult to deal with the sometimes crazy and intense energy of Mercury Retrograde. Use a form of spiritual protection that works for you! Ground and shield yourself regularly. Work with your angels and guides. Take salt baths, burn sage, or work with crystals and essential oils for protection and energetic cleansing.

Watch How You're Communicating with Others

During Mercury Retrograde, it is easier for us to misinterpret the words or actions of another. We may know how we are feeling, but when we try to tell someone else it comes out backwards, rude, or just totally wrong. Think before you speak! It may sound good in your head, but what about coming out of your mouth? Be mindful of the words you use with others - especially as some people may be more argumentative at this time. Are you communicating your feelings effectively? Don't feed into drama! Would someone find your word choice, tone, or inflection condescending when you're really just coming from a place of love? Is it better for the conversation to take place in person instead of via email? The way things come across in an email can be very different than if you were face to face or on the phone with them.

Reflect More Than You Manifest

As Mercury Retrograde is a time of "re-doing", it only feels right to be more of a time about reflecting than manifesting. A time of connecting with yourself. A time of redefining what works best for you. If you are dead set on doing some sort of manifesting work while Mercury is in Retro, try to re-work a manifestation that didn't work or turn out as planned. What could you have done differently? What would you add or take away? Were you not specific enough, were you too specific, or did the intention change all together?

Tie-Up Loose Ends

Now is the time to finish that project! Complete any tasks that have been lying around half done for the last few weeks or months. Get things finished up so you can move on to the next chapter when Mercury stations direct.

<3 Sending you loads of love this Mercury Retro!

Owl as a Spirit Animal | Animal Totems

img_6137.jpg

Owls and their haunting call bring forth so much symbolism from the depths of the subconscious. Have you been hearing their whisper in the forest? If this magical bird has perched itself in your awareness, it has a special lesson just for you! What is Owl encouraging you to do? More importantly, whoooo is Owl calling you to be?

Wisdom

Knowledge. The Keeper of Secrets. Magick. Study. Owl is classically associated with wisdom and learning. To gain wisdom, challenges are often called forth to be a teacher to us, so that particular lessons and skills can be learned. Owl asks you to reflect on past lessons. What wisdom did you gain from the situation? What lessons are your discovering right now? Owl also comes to recognize you for your continued growth and the lessons you have mastered. This majestic bird also invites you to bring more of a sense of magick, awe, wonder, and mystery into your life. Connect with the spirit of Owl for an extra boost when doing ritual or spellwork.

Clairaudience + Clairvoyance

Keen sense of hearing and vision, an awakening of these psychic senses. Owls have 3 eyelids and this fact can only make me think of one thing - the Third Eye or pineal gland. This is the center for your psychic sense of clairvoyance. Owls also have an acute sense of hearing which combined with great depth perception helps them tremendously in their hunting. Pay special attention to the messages you receive clairaudiently. The Owl calls upon you to work with and strengthen your psychic senses.

Perspective - The Owl Head Turn

Foresight, seeing the big picture, seeing the situation from the perspective of another. Extend your range of vision! Owls can rotate there heads to a max of 270 degrees without doing any damage! Does a situation have your feathers a bit ruffled? Owl says there is no harm at looking at things from a different point of view! This may also help you to understand someone else in a new way - especially someone you may not be getting along with. A new angle can bring refreshing insight, opportunity, and information as to what may be coming your way! Use this along with your intuition and clairvoyance to help you in decision making as well.

Appreciation for the Journey on the Road to Awakening | Maven Mindset

woman-on-the-road-appreciation-for-journey-cover.jpg

Looking back at your journey thus far, I'm sure you've learned a lot along the way. You may wish you were better prepared before you embarked on this expedition of self-discovery, but you wouldn't trade your unique experience for anything. Here are some things I've learned thus far in my own journey, as well as what I have come to appreciate about the journey of soul and self-discovery, the road of awakening, and the journey of being your most authentic self...

You're learning what is of heartfelt importance to you. You're better at bringing your focus back to the present. To look back and see how far you've come. Don't sweat the small stuff! Let it go. In the grand scheme go things, is it really that big of a deal? Don't stress about all that you have left to do, dream about, and accomplish. You know it will happen when it's meant to, so there is no need to attach to outcomes.

You have an appreciation for the process of letting go. You've gotten better at releasing! YES! Although it is never easy, the more you do it, the better you become at surrendering. You realize that releasing is vital to the health of not only your immortal soul, but also your human body. You can recognize a good release by the way you stand taller, your shoulders relax, your neck muscles aren't as tight. Everything about your energy is just lighter!

You understand the value of slow steady growth. Is a weed that sprouts up over night stronger than a great oak? You take time to stop and smell the flowers. To relish in the experience. To sink-in to the journey. To allow the road, your soul purpose, to become part of the way you walk and talk. You're not in any rush - where is the fun in that? You'd rather savor every moment, every lesson along the way. That way you really learn them- maybe even the first time around! Strong foundations are important to you. You want your knowledge and experience to have a backbone. Something to stand on that speaks all for itself.

girl-throwing-fall-leaves-appreciate-the-journey.jpg

You've learned some warning signs - who and who not to trust. You have become a better judge of character (by getting to know yourself), but not judgmental - you just know who you would like to invite into your energy and who you'd rather keep at a bit of a distance. You know to pick your battles wisely. To not feed into another's negative behavior. To not get wrapped up in other people's drama - remember, not my circus, not my monkeys. You understand the insanely crazy value of setting boundaries and how it is a benefit to not only you, but also to others in your life as well.

You're getting better at that little thing called Self-Talk. You've been working on healing thoughts of a comparing nature. You understand that the grass really isn't always greener on the other side, but you are too busy focusing on pulling your own weeds, sowing seeds, and spreading fertilizer to notice your neighbor's lawn.  You've become better at freeing yourself from self-oppressing thoughts, self-sabotage, and lower vibrational patterns of behavior. You truly know the worth of thinking positively and the power of your own manifestation abilities!

You have a ton of excitement and hope for the future! You can over come anything and you know that now! You see all of the remnants of past challenges behind you - in a cloud of smoke, lying in the dust. You tore threw them like a hurricane (even though it may not have felt that way in the moment).  You are more sure of where you want to go, what you're looking for, and have a better idea of how to get it. You know where to look for opportunities. Understand the value and deep worth of self-expression. You're better able to determine when and when not to take action. You're more daring and ready for new adventures!

What have you learned on your journey of awakening thus far? What lessons are you currently grappling with? I'd love to hear your insights!

Rock Your Chakras!

chakra-love-pic.jpg

Show your Chakras some L.O.V.E.

Our chakras play a major role in our health, vitality, and well being. The health of our chakras affects our relationship with ourselves, others, and the world around us. Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning "wheel of life". There are 7 major chakras in our body. (I go into detail about all 7 Chakras on my YouTube channel. You can view my Rock Your Chakras! videos here). They are at points along our spine from the base of the spine all the way up to the crown of our head and each has its own color association. They all govern different areas of our life, body, and human experience. These whirling vortexes of energy are as follows:

  1. Root Chakra - Red
  2. Sacral Chakra - Orange
  3. Solar Plexus Chakra - Yellow
  4. Heart Chakra - Green
  5. Throat Chakra - Blue
  6. Third Eye Chakra - Indigo
  7. Crown Chakra - Purple

Each chakra has it’s own vibration or frequency. The lower chakras (root to solar plexus) have a more dense vibration and the higher chakras (heart to crown) have a higher vibration. Our lower chakras connect us with Mother Earth and nature. Our higher chakras connect us with our Higher Self, Spirit, Universe, and the Divine. The chakras work separately but they also work together as well. They support each other for the highest growth possible. Think of a tree - it needs to have strong roots and a steady foundation to flourish and stand tall!

We need to have a strong foundation before working too much with the higher chakras as their high vibration can sometimes be overwhelming or intense - especially when first starting to work with them. When I first started meditating I would feel sick afterwards because my body wasn't used to such a high vibration. I could feel my soul shaking inside of me - it was awesome and a bit scary at the same time. The more I worked with it and the more I worked with my lower chakras and grounding, the more enriching it became. So in my experience, a strong foundation - as it is with anything else - is very important.

What does it mean to have a blocked/unbalanced chakra?

Since chakras are spinning wheels of light, a wheel can get stuck (blocked chakra), move too slow (unbalanced - not open enough), or move too fast (unbalanced - too open). This can cause an unbalance in our physical bodies and can negatively affect how we interact with the world around us. If unbalanced, the color of that chakra may be dull or not as strong if you look at it clairvoyantly. Now why does this happen? The cause of an unbalanced chakra is often a response to emotional pain, trauma, regrets, fears, worries, etc. The energy is not flowing as it should be. Having a blocked chakra can manifest in our lives in different ways from insecurity and anger to depression and anxiety to hyper-sexuality and co-dependency.

Why should you care about the health of your chakras?

When your chakras are in alignment, here are some things you can experience:

  • Happiness
  • Having more energy
  • Improve how you interact with others
  • Be calmer in stressful situations
  • Helps you to live a more balanced and conscious life
  • An improved and deeper connection to Spirit
  • Most importantly - a deeper knowledge of yourself and your soul!

Rock your Salacious 7!

If you'd like to learn more about working with the individual chakras, how to tell when a certain chakra is unbalanced, how to balance it, and (my fave) crystals for each chakra and how to work with them, then definitely check out my YouTube series  Rock Your Chakras! for TONS of great info!

Stay gorgeous beautiful soul!
